About Us The Spirit of Lake Murray is an 80-foot, USCG-inspected passenger vessel running dinner cruises, sunset cruises and private charters on Lake Murray, just outside Columbia, SC. Our crew is small and close, and every cruise is a live event the kitchen has to run smoothly for the whole night to work. About the Role You'll be the chef's right hand in the galley. Most of the food is prepped ahead and held for service, so the work is steady rather than frantic: prep during the day, support during the cruise, and reset afterward. It's a great fit if you like clear tasks, a clean workspace, and being part of a crew and it's real experience aboard a working passenger vessel.

What You'll Do Prep:

food prep before cruises — chopping, portioning, assembling, and staging menu items.

Service:

assist in the kitchen during cruises — plating, replenishing, and supporting the chef through service.

Clean:

dishwashing and keeping the galley clean and sanitary throughout the shift.

Organize:

keep storage, dry goods, and coolers organized, labeled and restocked. What We're Looking For Reliability — cruises sail on schedule and the crew counts on you being there. A kind, collaborative attitude. Our crew works closely together and we hire for how people treat each other. Willingness to learn — kitchen experience helps but isn't required; we'll train the right person. Available evenings and weekends; comfortable on your feet in a compact galley aboard a moving vessel.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
