Overview Join our dynamic banquet services team as a Kitchen Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a vibrant, efficient, and safe kitchen environment. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. As a vital part of our food service operation, you'll support the banquet team in delivering high-quality meals while maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the food industry, enhance your culinary skills, and contribute to a positive dining experience for all. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards. Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, slicers, and other appliances safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by adhering to sanitation protocols, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support meal assembly and serving processes to ensure timely delivery of quality food to customers or guests. Follow food safety guidelines for handling ingredients, storing supplies correctly, and preventing cross-contamination. Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels needing replenishment. Collaborate effectively with banquet staff through clear communication to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards in production. Experience Previous experience working in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food handling and customer interaction. Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques. Skills in operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Background in catering or large-scale food production is a plus. Strong understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments. Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques that ensure precision and safety during food prep. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the food industry who want to build their culinary experience while contributing to a supportive team environment. Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 30.0 per week
