Job Description

Coffee House Staff - Part-Time The Celtic Cup Coffee House is looking for dependable, friendly people to join our staff. We are a locally owned Celtic-inspired coffee house in downtown Tullahoma, serving our community since 2009. This opening is for several areas of our coffee house. Previous coffee-house or food-service experience is helpful, but it is not required for every position. We will consider applicants with different experience levels and provide training appropriate to the position. Available Work Areas Depending upon experience, ability, and training progress, staff members may work in one or more of the following areas: Welcoming guests and taking orders using the Toast POS system Preparing sandwiches and other menu items Making blended and specialty beverages Brewing coffee and tea Running food and beverages to guests Clearing, cleaning tables Washing dishes and maintaining clean work areas Restocking supplies and completing opening or closing duties Learning barista skills as part of continued advancement Assisting with special events and seasonal activities The Celtic Cup cross-trains staff members as they demonstrate reliability, accuracy, hospitality, and readiness to learn additional stations. What We Are Looking For A welcoming and respectful manner with guests and coworkers Dependability and punctuality Willingness to learn and accept instruction Ability to stay productive during both busy and quiet periods Attention to cleanliness, food safety, and presentation Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and assigned responsibilities Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds Reliable transportation to and from work Availability to work Fridays and Saturdays Applicants with previous employment should be prepared to provide work references. First-time job seekers are also welcome to apply if they are ready to learn workplace expectations and job responsibilities. Schedule This is a part-time position. Staff scheduling may fall between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sundays.
Our greatest current needs include:
Opening availability beginning at 6:30 a.m. Morning shifts such as 6:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday availability Daytime Friday and Saturday availability through approximately 5:00 p.m. Applicants must provide their actual, dependable availability. Friday and Saturday availability is required. Starting Pay Starting pay is based upon the experience, demonstrated skills, and workplace readiness an applicant brings to the position. First-time workers requiring complete workplace and position training may begin at $7.25 per hour. Applicants with previous work experience and transferable customer-service skills may begin around $9.00 per hour. Applicants entering barista training may begin around $10.00 per hour. Applicants who demonstrate established barista skills may qualify for $11.00 per hour or more. Qualified Shift Leads may earn approximately $14.00 per hour. These are starting placement levels, not the complete wage ladder. Staff members may earn increases as they master additional stations, demonstrate competence and reliability, and advance through The Celtic Cup's crew levels.
