As a vital support member of the kitchen staff, you will assist with food preparation, cleaning, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards. Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and food processors. Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances through regular cleaning routines. Follow strict food safety protocols related to handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination. Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods. Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment demonstrates familiarity with food handling and customer service. Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques is advantageous. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards in a production setting is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members are essential. Experience with catering or large-scale food production can be beneficial for this role. Basic culinary skills such as knife handling, slicing techniques, and food safety management are valued assets.
