Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/clerk/sandwich preparer to join our team on Saturdays and Sundays through September. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and food to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring that every customer has a positive experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items according to established recipes and standards. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders and providing recommendations based on their preferences. Operate the square system for processing transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, equipment, and dining area. Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; assist with restocking as needed. Adhere to food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health regulations. Provide assistance to team members as needed to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Skills Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products effectively. Excellent customer service skills to create an inviting atmosphere for patrons. Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change accurately. Knowledge of coffee and food preparation techniques and an understanding of different coffee types. Familiarity with square or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred but not required. Experience in food handling within the food industry is advantageous. A commitment to food safety practices to ensure the health of customers and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
