•$15.00 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Prep Team Member We're looking for a dependable and hardworking Prep Team Member to help keep our Potbelly shop ready for a successful day. This role focuses primarily on preparing fresh ingredients, portioning food, stocking the line, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This is a great position for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, stays organized, and takes pride in preparing food correctly and consistently.

What You'll Do:

Prepare meats, vegetables, toppings, and other ingredients according to Potbelly standards Portion and label food accurately Stock and organize the prep area, walk-in cooler, and sandwich line Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and prep area Wash dishes and equipment as needed Receive and properly store deliveries Monitor product levels and communicate prep needs to the manager Assist the team with other shop duties when needed

What We're Looking For:

Dependable and punctual Able to work efficiently and stay organized Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and commitment to food quality Able to follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and food-safety procedures Able to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 30-40 pounds Restaurant or food-prep experience is helpful, but not required—we're happy to train the right person

Schedule:

Youll create a great experience at our Potbelly Sandwich Shop by delivering fast, friendly service and consistently serving high-quality food in a clean, welcoming environment. What Youll Do Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate customer service Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other menu items to Potbelly standards Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards Work across multiple stations (prep, register, food line, etc.) Restock supplies and keep the shop organized Handle cash transactions and customer orders Resolve customer concerns with professionalism What you Bring to the Team You are friendly and customer service oriented You have strong communication skills You enjoy problem-solving You love working in a fast-paced environment Basic Qualifications You can handle potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish You can handle the ambient heat of the kitchen Youre at least 15 years old You're able to stand/walk for 4-6 hours or as needed Youre able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds occasionally You are applying to work with a franchisee of Potbelly Corporate. If hired, the franchisee will be your only employer.
