To learn more and apply, visit: https://www.lgsrecreation.org/about-us/jobs/ Depending on your position, you will: Monitor pool activities and enforce pool rules consistently, fairly, and professionally. Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and positive environment in and around the pool. Identify unsafe conditions and respond quickly to emergencies, including water rescues and first aid/CPR as needed. Know and follow the Emergency Action Plan and complete detailed incident and accident reports. Teach safe, engaging swim lessons for students at a variety of skill levels. Provide positive feedback, evaluate student progress, complete lesson cards, and communicate with parents during swim lesson sessions. Help keep the pool deck, guard office, and locker rooms clean, stocked, and ready for use. Assist patrons with questions or concerns and promptly communicate unresolved issues to the Head Lifeguard or management team. Attend required in-service trainings and maintain all required certification skills throughout the season. Follow scheduling and substitute procedures when unable to work an assigned shift. Qualifications We are looking for responsible, attentive team members who are comfortable in an active, public-facing environment and enjoy working with children, families, and the community. Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform lifeguarding and water-rescue duties. Ability to work professionally and positively with children, parents, patrons, and coworkers. Reliable, safety-minded, and able to remain focused in a busy pool environment. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, including sun, heat, cold, rain, and wind. Ability to stand, walk, swim, squat, reach overhead, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to work safely around wet and slippery surfaces. Required certifications For Lifeguard and Head Lifeguard positions, candidates must hold current, valid American Red Cross certifications in: Lifeguard Training First Aid CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Swim Instructor candidates must hold a current Water Safety Instructor certification. LGS Recreation provides certification training.
