Water Safety Instructor (WSI)•
Part-time Summary:
Be able to relate to youth and parents while providing necessary swimming skills under the guidelines of the American Red Cross. The Water Safety Instructor works under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator and the Aquatics Program Manager.
Shift Availability :
    General Hours:
    Mon-Thurs (6-9pm), Sat (8am-4pm), Sun (9am-12:30pm)
    Qualifications:
    Must be at least 16 years of age. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certified preferred. 1 year of swim lesson instruction preferred. Must be able to successfully demonstrate knowledge of and the skills taught in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Levels. American Red Cross Lifeguard certified or, if not Lifeguard certified, holds current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
    Responsibilities:
    Essential Duties:
    Teach age and level-appropriate skills to students of all ages and abilities. Track attendance/progress, manage equipment setup/cleanup. Attend all in-service trainings. Representative of the Recreation Department, uphold and exemplify department policies and guidelines in all aspects of job performance and in relationships with children, families and district employees as outlined in the department employee handbook. Communicate all program changes, incidents, needs, or concerns to immediate supervisor. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor .
