Tasting Room Attendant - Harmony Cellars Harmony Cellars is a small, family-owned winery located just off Highway 1 between the coastal towns of Cayucos and Cambria. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and sales-driven individual to join our tasting room team for approximately 15-25 hours per week . This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a social, fast-paced environment, enjoys connecting with people, and is passionate about providing exceptional hospitality. Strong sales skills are an essential part of this position. Our tasting room attendants are expected not only to create memorable guest experiences, but also to confidently sell wine and actively promote and grow our wine club membership. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service while creating a warm, welcoming, and engaging tasting experience for every guest Educate guests about Harmony Cellars wines, winemaking practices, history, and brand story Actively promote and sell Harmony Cellars wine club memberships to tasting room guests Clearly communicate wine club benefits and confidently ask guests to join when appropriate Build rapport with guests and use strong sales techniques to convert positive tasting experiences into wine purchases and wine club memberships Work toward individual and team sales goals, including wine club sign-ups Recommend wines and purchases based on guest preferences Process transactions accurately using a POS system Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and organization of the tasting room and work areas Assist with opening and closing duties Support on-site events and winery functions as needed Qualifications & Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Flexible availability is required; weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday) is a must Energetic, outgoing, personable, and comfortable engaging with a wide variety of guests Strong sales skills and a willingness to actively sell wine club memberships are required and are a very important part of this position Comfortable initiating sales conversations, explaining membership benefits, overcoming hesitation, and asking for the sale Motivated by achieving sales goals while maintaining a genuine, hospitality-focused approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Previous wine, hospitality, retail, or sales experience is preferred; however, we are happy to provide wine and product training to the right candidate with a strong sales and customer-service background Additional Expectations Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times Be willing and eager to learn about wine and continuously improve product knowledge Be receptive to sales training, coaching, and feedback Consistently contribute toward tasting room wine and wine club sales goals Handle busy periods with efficiency, professionalism, and composure Be dependable, reliable, and punctual At Harmony Cellars, we believe great hospitality and great sales go hand in hand.
