Job Description

Summary:
The housekeeping position performs custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas and other building interiors.
Essential Responsibilities:
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. Operates powered vehicles, lifts and hand pallet jack as necessary, in a safe manner. Dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, and other equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the assembly floor and the entire facility. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on the buildings and grounds as required. Maintains cleaning supply inventory, and orders as required. Collects all garbage and recyclables and disposes as necessary. You will be expected to operate according to
ISO 9001
requirements. Held responsible and accountable to follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area, and use good safety judgment. Expected to report all unsafe activities and conditions to the Supervisor and/or Safety Representative. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Licensure/Certification:
N/A Experience/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Basic personal computer skills. This position also requires you to be able to prioritize tasks.
Work Schedule/Hours:
Monday - Friday with typical business hours. Frequently work 9 and 10 hour days during spring, summer, and fall with some Saturday work based on customer demands.
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation. Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
