Role:
The Hotel Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and overall guest satisfaction within the hotel environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. The housekeeper contributes directly to the guest experience by providing a welcoming and spotless environment, which supports the hotel's reputation and operational success. Attention to detail, efficiency, and a proactive approach to identifying maintenance or supply needs are essential to excel in this role. Ultimately, the Hotel Housekeeper helps create a positive and memorable stay for all guests through consistent and thorough cleaning practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and use of cleaning equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting. Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and sustainable practices. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Certification in hospitality or cleaning safety standards is a plus. Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies. Maintain cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and conference rooms. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or inventory shortages to the management team promptly. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Collaborate with other hotel staff to ensure timely room readiness and exceptional guest service.

Communication skills enable the housekeeper to coordinate with management and other staff to address guest needs and report issues efficiently.
