HOUSEMAN / UTILITY ATTENDANT
As a Houseman / Utility Attendant, you'll play an important role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of both interior and exterior areas of the property. This position supports Housekeeping with linens, supplies, trash removal, public-area cleaning, and general property upkeep while helping create a welcoming environment for guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and maintain public areas, hallways, entrances, restrooms, and other assigned interior and exterior spaces. Assist Housekeeping with linens, towels, amenities, supplies, and guest requests. Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and other materials to designated areas. Stock housekeeping closets, carts, and supplies as needed. Vacuum, sweep, mop, wipe, and clean assigned surfaces and common areas. Remove litter, trash, cigarette butts, and debris from exterior areas. Clean sidewalks, entryways, designated smoking areas, parking areas, and other assigned exterior spaces. Use hoses, pressure washers, and other approved cleaning equipment following proper training. Assist with meeting rooms, common areas, storage areas, and other property needs. Report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or property issues to management. Respond professionally to guest requests and provide assistance when appropriate. Follow all company safety, sanitation, chemical-handling, and equipment procedures. Support other departments as needed to maintain smooth property operations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to obtain a Gaming License (if applicable). Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, facilities, or utility experience preferred but not required. Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, organization, and property appearance. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable with the ability to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision. Professional and courteous when interacting with guests, team members, and management. Ability to safely use housekeeping, janitorial, and exterior cleaning equipment following training. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred but not required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to obtain a Gaming License (if applicable). Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and willingness to assist guests and colleagues. Occasional exposure to mild to moderate smoke in certain areas of the hotel.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, push, pull, and twist. Regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds with assistance when appropriate. Push and pull housekeeping carts, linen carts, trash containers, and cleaning equipment. Perform repetitive movements associated with cleaning and utility work. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, wet surfaces, trash, dust, odors, vehicle traffic, and secondhand smoke in designated areas.
