POSITION SUMMARY

Room Attendant/ Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that each guest room is cleaned and spotless for each guest checking in or staying over in accordance to policies and procedures set forth by the housekeeping department and The Swiftwater as a whole. Also, responsible for excellent customer service exceeding guest expectations with each interaction by delivering Swiftwater's Signature Service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and service assigned rooms according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash/rubbish, etc. May include cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.
• Stock, restock and store housekeeping carts
• Handle and store chemicals in line with hotel regulations and any local legislative requirements
• Sign appropriate keys in and out at the beginning and end of each shift
• Greet and acknowledge guests demonstrating Swiftwater's Signature Service
• Notify supervisor when service is complete so rooms may inspected and readied for occupancy. Report any rooms unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures
• Report to supervisor any needed repairs or unsafe conditions
• Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty
• Respond to guest complaints, special requests and take action to ensure guest satisfaction by going above and beyond expectations.
• Monitor and control supplies and amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
• Report, turn in and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures
• Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
• Have a flexible work schedule including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays as business demands dictate.
• May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
• May assist with other duties as assigned

Accuracy and speed for executing assigned tasks and job responsibilities

• Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with other staff and guests
• Reading and writing abilities are used to document or record all tasks completed, to receive instructions for the day or to read policies and procedures Strong customer service skills and focus
• Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and be self-sufficient in slow periods
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
• Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task and meet job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace
• Ability to work a variety of days, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Basic reading, writing and math abilities are used when reading room assignments, completing checklists, replacing room linens and amenities, etc.

• Able to frequently lift, carry, pull and push items up to 25 pounds and occasionally items up to 50 pounds
