At the Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center Harlingen, your duties as a van driver and banquet houseman will include setting up, maintaining, and cleaning all meeting and banquet spaces in compliance with client specifications or as directed by banquet and other management. Adherence to the stringent safety and quality standards established by Hilton and BC Lynd is required for this role. You will also operate a van, ensuring the prompt and secure transportation of visitors. Requirements for
Education:
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
Principal Responsibilities:
Manage and store meeting room supplies, including linens, pads, and other necessities. By performing cleaning duties like vacuuming floors and cleaning windows and walls, you can keep your space immaculate. When assembling and disassembling banquet rooms, carefully handle all equipment in accordance with management guidelines and client requirements. Prioritize and multitask departmental tasks to meet deadlines and guarantee smooth operations. Pay attention to, understand, and resolve any concerns raised by employees and guests, providing solutions in a considerate and client-focused manner. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while effectively communicating both orally and in writing with all employees and guests. Ensure that all banquet equipment, such as tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns, is moved, stored, and cared for properly. Help ensure that visitors and supplies are transported promptly and safely as a van driver. Always uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service while abiding by all company rules and regulations. Perform additional duties as instructed by management to support the hotel's overall operations. Experience is necessary. Experience in the hospitality sector, specifically in the setup, maintenance, and cleaning of banquet and meeting spaces. A history of effectively cleaning walls and windows and vacuuming floors. Proficiency in handling, moving, and storing banquet furniture, including tables, chairs, risers, and lecterns for the dance floor. It is preferred if you have prior hotel or related industry experience.
