Job Summary:
The Receiving Supervisor an integral part of the management of this company. This position is hands on requiring a person to be quick thinking, interact professionally with our suppliers, able to multi-task, able to make critical decisions resulting in achieving deliverables laid forth efficiently, effectively and on point. This position is responsible for assuming all receiving responsibilities during their shift. The Receiving Supervisor reports directly to the Shipping Manager and assumes the role of implementing company objectives set forth by the GM to help production operate efficiently and profitably.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Development of knowledge of product quality, product nuance (e.g. what makes a "good" oyster vs a B grade oyster) Proficiency in Receiving Filling out transaction slips Filling entering inventory into computer w/ accurate vendor pricing Printing receiving tags Ensuring all products have grade sheets attached to them Tagging product correctly Placing product correctly in designated area (e.g. cooler/freezer/tanks) Develop a complete understanding of the importance for getting product received, counted and adjusted and to accounts payable in a timely manner for payment. Have a complete proficiency with inventory receipt adjustments and stock adjustments and knowing the difference between them and when to do one vs. the other Proficiency in managing wet-store dates and printing tags/labels accurately Proficiency in knowledge of WSC Vibrio Protocols Ensuring on hand inventor is properly rotated, tagged and accounted for Ability to 'spot red flags' with product and get clarification from appropriate person Coordinating the logistics for fishermen/ boat pickups including communication with operations to schedule proper staffing for offloading, receiving, and processing Proficiency in managing wet-store dates and printing tags/labels accurately Ensure smooth production operation during shift Ensuring proper protocols are followed and paperwork is accurate/ complete
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and follow through skills that can achieve results by working through others Passionate about shellfish and the fishing industry Leadership and innovation Ability to assess products for quality compliance. Good time management skills. Basic understanding of principles and processes of customer service
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. Experience in the handling, health, and quality of shellfish Wholesale experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
