Duties:
Perform seafood processing operations across all stages of production, including raw fish receipt, de-heading, filleting, trimming, cleaning, packaging and freezing, in accordance with established quality and safety standards. Apply seafood handling and processing techniques to ensure product quality, consistency and efficient workflow throughout the facility. Independently carry out assigned processing tasks and coordinate workflow within designated production areas to meet daily production targets. Monitor product quality during processing to identify defects, contamination risks or deviations. Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation and food safety standards. Operate seafood processing equipment and tools safely, performing routine checks and basic troubleshooting, as required. Identify and report processing issues, equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to management. Maintain accurate production, inventory and quality records to support traceability and reporting requirements. Support training of new employees by demonstrating proper processing techniques, safety practices and operational procedures. Collaborate with quality assurance and logistics teams to ensure production meets order requirements and shipping schedules.
Requirements:
2 years of experience working in a seafood/meat processing environment. Lift/carry 50+ lbs repeatedly. Work weekends, early mornings, flexible shifts. Tolerate cold/refrigerated environments for extended periods. Stand/move continuously during shifts.

Job Duties:
Receive, unload and move seafood (crabs, oysters, shrimp, etc.) to designated processing or storage areas. Sort seafood by species, size and quality, discarding defective product and report quality issues to supervisor. Clean, cut and trim seafood products in accordance with company specifications. Weigh, portion and package seafood products, apply labels and prepare finished products for freezing, storage or shipment. Handle racks, pans and containers in and out of freezers or cold storage. Follow state/federal food safety guidelines; maintain clean workstations/equipment.

This job order is placed in connection with a concurrent H-2B labor certification application. The job is a bona fide, F/T temporary position for 6 Seafood / Deer Processor from 10/1/2026 to 7/1/2027 with Backwoods

Turkey Point Rd., North East, Maryland 21901; (443) 553-7708. Prepare and handle raw crabs and other raw seafood products, including oysters and shrimp. Separate live crabs by size and weight; separate processed seafood meat by size or grade. Skin, butcher, process, and package deer. Package seafood products and deer into appropriate containers for distribution. Seal, count, measure, ice, debone, and prepare orders for wholesale or retail sales. Follow all state and federal food safety guidelines, ensuring cleanliness of workstations and equipment. Clean and maintain workstations and equipment to ensure sanitary processing conditions. Assist in unloading raw seafood from trucks and placing them in the designated processing area or on worktables. Assemble packaging materials, prepare products for shipment, and assist with loading finished goods onto trucks for delivery. Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. 35 per week; 7:00 AM-2:00 PM, Wed-Sun; work extended daily hours as needed and weekends are required. The employer maintains a workplace free from the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and unauthorized controlled substances. No Experience/No educ. 7 days on the job training provided. $19.85 per hour; $29.78/OT; Overtime is not guaranteed but if worked rate is paid at time and a half per hour above 40 hours per week. Raise/bonus at employer's discretion. Opportunity for higher pay based on experience/performance. A single workweek will be used in computing the wage due. Payday is Weekly on Wednesday Employer will only assist with locating shared rental housing upon arrival at the request of the employee. Employees are not required to live in housing the employer locates. Employees may make their own arrangements at their own expense.
Deductions:
all deductions required by law, cash advances, repayment of loans and overpayment of wages to the worker, payment for articles which the worker voluntarily purchased from employer, recovery of any loss to the employer due to the worker's damage (beyond normal wear and tear) or loss of equipment where it is shown that the worker is responsible, and any other reasonable deductions expressly authorized by the worker in writing. No deduction not required by law will be made that brings the workers hourly earnings below the FLSA Federal statutory minimum wage. This is not itinerate work.
Worksites locations:
Cecil Return transportation and daily subsistence paid or provided if worker completes employment period or is dismissed early by employer. Outbound transportation is paid/provided at most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation rates for distances involved, where applicable. Employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer provides at no charge all required tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job.
