Job Description

Purpose Responsible to use hand or hand tools to perform routine cutting and trimming of seafood and seafood products. Packing correct species and cuts to customer's orders. Gain knowledge on how to process seafood for wholesale and retail customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties:
Must have working knowledge of seafood production equipment. Clean, candle, remove parasites, trim, skin, pull bones and/or prepare fish for future processing. Weigh fish and tag containers for weight, contents and customer name. Ability to work with company Vista Track Programs for processes, cuttings and yield measurement Read company program tickets/tags, Select proper specie for order process, labeling, scanning Separate fish and products into specified containers and seal containers. Open cases and prepare raw materials for further processing. Ensure that all product specifications are being met according to guidelines. Ensure compliance of all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines. Perform duties quickly to meet all deadlines imposed Ability to adjust to sudden changes in customer demands and operational goals. Commitment to work until the job is completed Customer Service driven, comprehend and carry out instructions and understand specifications of customer Prepare cut product to meet customer specs and company yields. Prepare special orders of fish product ordered by customers. 2 Maintain cleanliness of cut room, ensure work area is free of debris and abides by company safety policy. Follow FDA requirements for the processing and production of Fresh/Frozen seafood. Interact with other team members, work as a team proactively Complete other duties as requested by supervisor. Clearly communicate questions to team leader
Non-Essential Duties:
Team work for shift cleanup based on areas of plant assigned May be assigned to pack and pull products in other areas of the operation May be assigned to pack, load, work with packaging The duties and responsibilities listed here are not all encompassing. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma required Experience in food plant, safety, processing and storage operations Good problem solving skills Must be self-directed, able to work independently, and possess good judgment Must have good knife handling experience. Ability to use appropriate knifes and tools of the trade Working Conditions Extended hours and weekend work is required, especially during busy seasons and promotional sales. Ability to work in temperatures consistently between 42 to 55 degrees, while performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk use hands to handle objects, or controls Physical Requirements Working second shift, Weekends or variations of weekends Ability to frequently lift and carry product that can weigh up 50 lbs. to 90 lbs. Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods of time. Frequently working in cold and refrigerated areas for extended periods of time.
Pay:
$20.28 - $21.50 per hour
