Weekend availability required. Overtime and rotating shifts as needed. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Ripener to oversee inventory management and product ripening operations in a fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory, maintaining quality standards, performing inspections, and ensuring products meet required specifications before shipment. Responsibilities Manage and monitor the ripening process to ensure products meet established quality standards. Maintain accurate daily inventory records. Plan, coordinate, and execute ripening schedules based on forecasted needs. Monitor ripening rooms and make adjustments as necessary. Perform quality inspections, product evaluations, and color checks. Sort and grade incoming products. Supervise loading and unloading activities, including inspections of inbound products. Ensure quality evaluations of inbound and outbound products are completed and documented. Report products that do not meet specifications, including packaging or appearance concerns. Communicate inventory levels, product availability, quality issues, and operational updates to relevant teams. Prepare, review, and maintain operational reports. Identify opportunities for improvement and support corrective actions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of ripening experience or related experience. Forklift experience required. Strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with perishable products preferred. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Work Schedule Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts. Shifts typically begin at 7:00 AM or 9:30 AM, with end times varying based on operational needs. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching. Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements. Ability to work around machinery and production equipment. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., with or without assistance. Comfortable working in hot, cold, humid, and fast-paced environments.
