Overview Join our vibrant team as an After-School Teacher / Bus Monitor, where you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this dynamic position, you will supervise children during transportation and recreational activities, ensuring their well-being while fostering growth and development. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while developing your skills in youth supervision, behavior management, and educational support. Duties Supervise children during bus transportation, ensuring safe boarding, riding, and disembarking procedures in accordance with safety protocols. Lead engaging after-school activities that promote social skills, creativity, and learning, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, and group projects. Assisting in homework assignments as needed. Maintain a vigilant watch over children's safety at all times, applying child supervision best practices and behavior management techniques. Assist with classroom management during structured activities and support teachers in implementing lesson plans tailored for young children. Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, following established protocols to ensure children's health and safety. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and emergency responders to report incidents or concerns promptly. Support outdoor work activities such as playground supervision or field trips that enhance experiential learning. Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, youth groups, or tutoring is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Certification in First Aid and CPR (including AED operation) is required; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster positive behavior and engagement among children. Experience facilitating youth programs or outdoor activities demonstrates adaptability and enthusiasm for active roles. Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience, energy, and a positive attitude. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and maintain high energy levels throughout the shift. Pay:
$12.50 - $14.00 per hour
