We're looking for a Companion & Life Skills Coach to support a young woman on the autism spectrum as she builds confidence, develops independence, and enjoys a full, meaningful life. She has a fun, creative personality and enjoys arts and crafts, music, swimming, animals, photography, puzzles, Legos, sensory activities, and getting out into the community. She thrives when people are patient, give her time to process, offer choices instead of pressure, and encourage her to do things at her own pace. What You'll Do Encourage independence with daily living skills and personal care. Prepare meals together and practice cooking and household routines. Enjoy arts and crafts, music, games, sensory activities, or other hobbies. Accompany her to appointments, shopping, swimming, parks, and community outings. Maintain a safe environment. Keep simple daily notes and communicate important updates with the family. We're Looking for Someone Who... Is kind, patient, dependable, and honest. Builds positive, meaningful relationships. Has a good sense of humor and a positive attitude. Is calm, flexible, and enjoys participating in activities. Respects her pace, encourages independence, and communicates well. Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and is comfortable working in a home with audio/video monitoring for safety. Qualifications Experience supporting individuals with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities is strongly preferred. At least one year of experience in caregiving, education, behavioral support, recreation, coaching, or a related field is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. CPR and First Aid certification are a plus. Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation. Must successfully pass a background check and provide references. Schedule Intermittent Schedule•Typically early morning•midafternoon. Mostly school holidays, weekends and covering other staff when they are out.
