https://info.flclearinghouse.com/ The Activities Aide is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging recreational, social, educational, and wellness activities that promote the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being of our assisted living residents. This position plays an important role in creating a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment where residents are encouraged to remain active, connected, and engaged. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the implementation of the monthly activity calendar. Lead or assist with group activities including games, crafts, exercise, music, bingo, educational programs, and social events. Encourage resident participation while respecting each resident's preferences, abilities, and independence. Provide one-on-one visits and activities for residents unable to attend group programs. Prepare activity supplies and ensure activity areas are clean, organized, and safe. Assist with decorating the community for holidays, special events, and themed celebrations. Escort residents to and from activities when needed while following all safety procedures. Document resident attendance and participation as required. Observe residents during activities and report any changes in condition or concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Foster meaningful relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members. Assist with community outings and special events as assigned. Support other departments during resident-centered events when appropriate. Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, facility policies, and all applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or Executive Director. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in activities, recreation, customer service, healthcare, or senior living is preferred but not required. Compassionate, patient, energetic, and dependable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to organize and lead small and large group activities. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and assist residents with mobility as needed. Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings and facility orientation. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and light lifting. Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents during activities and outings. Ability to work indoors and outdoors during community events. Schedule Part-Time Additional hours may be available for special events, holidays, or to provide coverage as needed.
