Fitness Floor Attendant

Job Description

Fitness Floor Attendant - Sachs Recreation Center At Deerfield Park District, we provide outstanding parks, services, facilities, and recreation programs that enrich lives, promote healthy living, and inspire memorable experiences. Connect with our community as they strive towards their fitness goals! Available Shifts We are hiring for non-seasonal, long-term coverage of these shifts .
Mondays:
4:30 PM - 8:00 PM (closing)
Tuesdays:
4:30 PM - 9:00 PM (closing)
Essential Functions:
Complete designated assigned shift duties using the proper cleaning supplies. Ensure a safe workout environment through active supervising and regular circulation of the fitness areas every 15 to 20 minutes. Continuously arrange equipment such as dumbbells, weight plates, bars, and small accessories to ensure that all fitness areas are clean and a safe workout environment is provided. Check all the sanitizing wipe dispensers and replenish when necessary. Monitor and enforce fitness center rules and policies. Fold small fitness towels and replenish counter & all studios.
Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. The employee must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. CPR/First Aid/AED certification highly encouraged. Knowledge of fitness equipment and basic fitness principles Demands of this job require a person to lift equipment such as weight plates, kettlebells, dumbbells, bars, etc. off the floor, push/pull benches into place, kneel or crouch while cleaning equipment, and be physically active while demonstrating and assisting members during their shift. Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong communication skills having the ability to represent the Deerfield Park District in a professional manner.
Required to:
Use good safety awareness and judgment. Follow policies. Report potentially unsafe conditions. Follow manufacturer safety instructions when using equipment. Follow agency ergonomic policies and procedures.
Wage Range:
$16- $18 an hour, starting pay at the base of range.
