Job Description:
The Intramural Assistant helps support the planning, organization, and successful operation of campus intramural sports and recreational activities. This position is responsible for event setup and breakdown, participant support, equipment management, and assisting with the supervision of intramural events to ensure an organized, and positive experience for all participants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment and facilities for intramural sports and recreational activities. Help oversee intramural events and activities to ensure they run smoothly. Monitor participant conduct and assist in enforcing intramural policies and sportsmanship standards. Distribute, collect, and maintain athletic and recreational equipment. Provide excellent customer service and support to participants, spectators, and staff. Assist with participant check-in, attendance tracking, and event-related administrative tasks. Communicate effectively with participants, officials, and athletic staff regarding event procedures and expectations. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity and storage area. Assist with other Athletics Department operations as assigned, including game management, event support, and Men's Lacrosse program activities.
Requirements:
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study. Strong interest in sports, recreation, and student engagement. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and provide courteous customer service. Dependable, punctual, and responsible. Ability to lift and move equipment associated with intramural and athletic events. Previous experience participating in or assisting with sports, recreation, or event management is preferred but not required. Work Schedule Shifts are primarily scheduled during weekday evenings and occasional Sunday evenings, based on program needs. Work schedules will be arranged around the student's academic commitments and availability whenever possible.
