September 8, 2026 - June 15, 2027 Spring Lake Park High School is seeking a DECA Advisor to lead and develop our DECA program. The advisor will provide students with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, business, and career-readiness skills through chapter activities, competitive events, community engagement, and leadership opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise DECA chapter meetings, activities, and student leadership opportunities. Recruit, support, and mentor students while building a positive, inclusive, and student-centered chapter culture. Prepare and support students for DECA competitive events, including district, state, and national/international competitions. Coordinate DECA registrations, competition schedules, transportation, lodging, and other event logistics. Communicate effectively with students, families, school administration, DECA representatives, and community partners. Manage the DECA budget and coordinate fundraising and other financial activities in collaboration with the Activities Department. Develop partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to provide students with authentic career and business experiences. Attend required DECA events, conferences, trainings, and competitions and ensure appropriate student supervision.
Preferences:
A BA/BS Degree and MN Teacher License OR equivalent and previous experience working with high school age students. Previous experience as a advisor/coach.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with DECA, student leadership programs, career and technical education, or other competitive/co-curricular activities is preferred. A background or professional experience in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Salary:
Group Casual Position DECA Advisor Rate of Pay $2378.00 stipend Other Stipend may be pro-rated based on FTE of assignment
