General Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Fitness & Wellness supports the daily operations of the college's fitness center and wellness programs while assisting the Athletic Director. The role combines facility management, student engagement, athletic department support, event coordination, safety compliance, and wellness programming. The assistant manager also serves as acting manager when needed and helps advance the college's mission of promoting health, wellness, and student success.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Oversee daily fitness center operations and maintain a safe, clean facility. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate student employees and fitness staff. Develop and enforce facility policies, risk management procedures, and emergency action plans. Coordinate equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and inventory. Manage memberships, customer service, facility reservations, and special events. Plan and promote wellness programs, fitness challenges, and recreational activities. Assist with budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and departmental reporting. Develop marketing materials and social media content to increase participation. Collaborate with athletics, enrollment, marketing, and campus departments. Support fundraising efforts and basketball game-day operations. Assist with recruiting student-athletes and promoting academic success. Ensure compliance with AIHEC, Title IX, and institutional policies. Serve as acting manager during the manager's absence. Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in athletic administration, educational administration, or a related field. Two years of intercollegiate athletics administration or collegiate athletic experience. Experience with personnel management, compliance, and operations. Knowledge of AIHEC and Title IX regulations. Experience managing sports or fitness facilities. Fundraising experience and donor relationship development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
