Position Summary:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of beverage operations across three full-service bars spanning across a counter-service restaurant and nighttime live music venue.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Manage development and training of bar staff to ensure they meet and maintain the required standards of service, health, safety & hygiene, product consistency, and productivity. Recruit, hire, schedule, coach, and evaluate bartenders and barbacks. Create seasonal and specialty event cocktails to help attract guests and elevate the guest experience, as well as, manage excess quantities of product. Assist in ensuring all beverage deliveries are correctly checked in, stored properly, and all invoices are turned into the appropriate locations, scanned into xtraCHEF, coded and checked for accuracy. Oversee the display of the bar to maximize functionality and attractiveness. Keep all staff informed about featured beers, wines, and cocktails and product changes including offerings and pricing. Create and maintain informational resources for reference on all bar products (beers, wines, liquors, mixers, etc) and recipes. Collaborate with the General Manager to create and update daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning/task checklists. Collaborate with the General Manager on brand distribution meetings and discuss bringing in new products. Supervise other restaurant staff as needed when the General Manager isn't in. Determine work techniques, supplies, machinery and tools to be used by bar staff. Ensure the safety of employees and property by enforcing company policies and procedures Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous customer service. Verify that equipment and property is kept clean and in good condition through inspections and preventative maintenance programs with assistance from the General Manager. Ordering beer, wine, and liquor based on operational needs on a weekly basis. Take a weekly inventory snap shot, that includes but isn't limited to, counting liquor room stock, bar stock, draft beer and wine, and bottled beer and wine. Ordering beer, wine, and liquor based on operational needs on a weekly basis while building and maintaining vendor relationships. Taking ownership of Club Car Bar operations including collaborating with the music booking liaison on upcoming shows, staying on top of special events, and creating activations to increase sales.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must possess a valid Responsible Beverage Server certification through ABC. Must possess a valid California Food Handler's certification Must have 3+ years experience in applicable bar operations
