40/hour, depending on experience We are a busy professional household seeking a dependable, highly organized, proactive Part-Time House Manager / Household Assistant to help keep our home and personal household operations running smoothly.
This is not a traditional house-cleaning position. We will have a separate professional cleaning service, and clothing laundry is primarily handled through a laundry service. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys organizing, completing projects, running errands, managing household details, and creating systems that make everyday life easier. The right person notices what needs to be done, follows through without constant reminders, communicates well, and takes pride in leaving a space better than they found it. Schedule Approximately 15-20 hours per week, primarily during weekdays. The schedule can be flexible and may vary somewhat depending on household needs, errands, vendor appointments, travel, and current projects. The homeowner works from home, so there is significant flexibility regarding days and hours. We are looking for someone interested in becoming a consistent, trusted part of our household rather than someone seeking occasional gig work. Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary by week and may include: Household Reset & Organization Keep household surfaces and common areas organized and functional Put away delivered groceries, household purchases, packages, and returned laundry Reset kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, office, and common areas between professional cleanings Change bed linens Wash/fold household towels and linens as needed Organize pantry, cabinets, household supplies, bathrooms, closets, and storage areas Restock household essentials before they run out Process incoming packages and break down/discard boxes Help prevent clutter and unfinished items from accumulating Errands & Household Logistics Handle Amazon and retail returns Drop off donations Coordinate tailoring, dry cleaning, repairs, and other household errands Pick up orders as needed Prepare outgoing laundry for pickup and put away returned laundry Help process household mail and deliveries Maintain an organized system for items that need to leave the house Reliable transportation will be necessary for errands. Grocery & Food Prep Support Most groceries are delivered.
Responsibilities may include:
Maintain household grocery and supply inventory Help prepare grocery/household orders Receive and put away deliveries Clean out and organize the refrigerator weekly Wash and cut fruits and vegetables Prepare salads and simple meal components Season proteins according to instructions Prepare items such as salsa or a simple slow-cooker meal This is not a private-chef position. The goal is basic ingredient prep that makes cooking easier for the household. Household Maintenance & Vendor Coordination Help coordinate household repairs and maintenance such as: Electricians Plumbers Handymen Painters Lawn service Pressure washing Appliance maintenance Junk removal Other household vendors Responsibilities may include researching providers, checking reviews, obtaining estimates, scheduling appointments, communicating with vendors, being present during appointments when needed, and confirming that work is completed. Major expenses and projects will always require homeowner approval. Household Projects There will often be an ongoing household project to work on after routine responsibilities are completed.

Setting up an organized beauty/makeup area Organizing bathroom drawers and household storage Photographing and cataloging a wardrobe in an app Organizing household supply areas Helping clear and repurpose rooms Preparing items for donation, sale, or removal Light furniture or household-item assembly Helping research and execute simple home-improvement or decorating projects Coordinating furniture sales, deliveries, assembly, and removal We would love someone who can take a project from "we have been meaning to do this" to completed.
Travel Support Before trips:
Help prepare travel supplies Restock toiletries Stage packing items Help identify anything that needs to be purchased After trips: Unpack luggage Sort laundry Put travel items away Restock travel supplies Return the home to normal Personal Household Administration Occasional assistance may include: Researching service providers Scheduling household or personal appointments after approval Making restaurant or activity reservations Maintaining household manuals, warranties, vendor information, and maintenance records Helping maintain organized household files This position will not involve managing banking, investments, medical portals, or confidential work information. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is: Extremely reliable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Able to follow written and verbal instructions Proactive without overstepping Comfortable working independently Resourceful and comfortable researching solutions Good at completing projects from beginning to end Comfortable using email, apps, online ordering, and basic technology Comfortable running errands independently Respectful of privacy and confidentiality Comfortable working in a home where the homeowner may also be working remotely Able to recognize when something requires approval versus when it can simply be handled Someone who genuinely enjoys creating order and making a household operate efficiently Household-management, personal-assistant, professional-organizing, hospitality, administrative, property-management, or similar experience is helpful but not necessarily required for an exceptional candidate.
