BUILD AND LEAD A COMMERCIAL HOOD CLEANING DIVISION
Aspen Air Duct Cleaning is an established, growing indoor environmental and commercial cleaning company serving Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. We are launching a commercial kitchen exhaust and hood cleaning division and are looking for an experienced industry professional to build and lead it. This is not a typical account manager position. The person selected will have the opportunity to take ownership of a new division, develop recurring commercial accounts, establish operating procedures, assemble and supervise crews, schedule and close out projects, maintain regulatory compliance, and help shape the future of the business. We are looking for someone who already understands the commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning industry and can step into a leadership role with minimal training.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Build, manage, and grow Aspen's commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning division. Develop new accounts with restaurants, hotels, schools, hospitals, commercial kitchens, property managers, restaurant groups, and institutional facilities. Use your established industry relationships to generate business lawfully and ethically. Maintain and grow recurring service agreements and multi-location accounts. Perform site inspections and prepare accurate proposals, scopes of work, and service schedules. Determine staffing, equipment, access, safety, and scheduling requirements for each project. Schedule crews and coordinate service with customers, facility managers, and kitchen personnel. Supervise technicians and ensure that every job is completed safely, thoroughly, and in accordance with applicable requirements. Train and develop hood-cleaning technicians and crew leaders. Inspect completed work and clear jobs before crews leave the property. Ensure proper cleaning of hoods, filters, plenums, fans, ducts, and accessible portions of commercial cooking exhaust systems. Confirm that before-and-after photographs, service reports, inspection records, deficiencies, labels, and customer signatures are properly completed. Identify and document inaccessible areas, grease accumulation, damaged ductwork, unsafe conditions, missing access panels, fan problems, and other system deficiencies. Ensure required reports and notifications are submitted to customers, authorities, or fire departments when applicable. Maintain compliance with
NFPA 96, 527 CMR
1.00, Massachusetts Department of Fire Services requirements, Boston Fire Department requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable local fire-prevention rules. Manage customer communication from the initial inspection through scheduling, completion, documentation, invoicing, and follow-up. Respond professionally to customer concerns and resolve service issues. Help establish pricing, production goals, quality-control procedures, equipment requirements, and operating standards. Monitor division performance, account retention, scheduling, labor usage, job profitability, and customer satisfaction. Work with company ownership to expand the division throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS
Significant commercial kitchen exhaust and hood cleaning experience. Previous experience managing accounts, crews, routes, or a hood-cleaning operation. Current Massachusetts Certificate of Competency for the inspection and cleaning of commercial cooking exhaust systems, or another current credential accepted by the appropriate Massachusetts authority. Current Boston Fire Department registration or authorization required to inspect and clean commercial cooking hood and exhaust systems within the City of Boston. Thorough working knowledge of NFPA 96 and applicable Massachusetts commercial cooking fire-safety requirements. Ability to inspect systems, identify deficiencies, complete required documentation, and properly close out jobs. Demonstrated ability to develop and retain recurring commercial accounts. Established relationships within the restaurant, hospitality, institutional kitchen, property-management, or facility-management industries. Ability to recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and hold technicians accountable. Strong estimating, proposal-writing, customer-service, and organizational abilities. Willingness to work or supervise overnight, early-morning, weekend, and off-hour projects when customer operations require it. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to safely access rooftops, climb ladders, work around commercial kitchen equipment, and perform physical inspections. Ability to pass any employment-related background or driving-record checks required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current industry-recognized kitchen exhaust cleaning certification. OSHA 10- or OSHA 30-hour training. Experience with multi-location restaurant groups and institutional accounts. Experience reviewing job costs, labor performance, gross margin, and division profitability. Experience developing standard operating procedures and quality-control programs. Experience working with fire departments, inspectors, facility managers, and insurance representatives. Existing Massachusetts and Boston accounts or customer relationships that may be transitioned lawfully and without violating any confidentiality, non-solicitation, contractual, or other legal obligations.
WHAT ASPEN PROVIDES
The backing and resources of an established company. Administrative, marketing, estimating, billing, and operational support. Company equipment, vehicles, insurance, and infrastructure. The opportunity to build a division without assuming the financial risk of starting your own company. Competitive base compensation. Commission and performance-based earning opportunities. Significant professional growth and leadership potential. The ability to help shape hiring, equipment selection, pricing, procedures, and expansion strategy. A long-term opportunity for the right person to become an important part of Aspen's management team.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a proven commercial hood-cleaning professional who wants more than another technician or salesperson position. You understand how to earn a customer's trust, win recurring accounts, organize crews, maintain compliance, inspect completed work, correct deficiencies, and deliver consistent results. You are comfortable being accountable for the entire division—from generating the opportunity and preparing the proposal to scheduling the crew, inspecting the completed work, closing out the paperwork, and maintaining the customer relationship.
