About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Bar & Grill Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our establishment. This role is responsible for inventory ordering, staff scheduling, & ensuring smooth, high-quality service across both the bar & kitchen. You'll work closely with a team of 3-4 bartender/servers & 3-4 kitchen staff to keep operations running efficiently & guests happy. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Inventory Order & manage inventory for food, beer, wine, & liquor Build & maintain relationships with vendors & distributors; negotiate pricing where possible Track stock levels & minimize waste, shrinkage, & over-ordering Conduct regular inventory counts & reconcile against usage/sales Staff Scheduling & Supervision Create & manage weekly schedules for the 6-8 person front-of-house & kitchen team Adjust staffing levels based on anticipated volume (events, holidays, seasonality) Approve time-off requests & arrange shift coverage as needed Onboard new hires & provide ongoing coaching to bartender/servers & kitchen staff Operations Ensure the establishment opens & closes properly each day Maintain compliance with health, safety, & alcohol service regulations Monitor food & beverage quality, presentation, & consistency Handle customer concerns or escalations professionally Maintain cash handling, POS, & basic financial reporting procedures Team Leadership Foster a positive, professional work environment Communicate clearly with staff regarding policies, expectations, & daily priorities Step in to support bar or kitchen operations during peak periods as needed Qualifications Prior experience in restaurant, bar, or hospitality management (2+ years preferred) Working knowledge of beer, wine, & liquor categories & ordering practices Experience creating staff schedules & managing a small team Strong organizational & communication skills Ability to work independently & make sound operational decisions Valid food handler's & alcohol service certifications (or willingness to obtain) Basic proficiency with POS systems & scheduling software Schedule This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible & may include time outside the restaurant's operating hours (e.g., for ordering, scheduling, or administrative tasks).
