POSITION DESCRIPTION
Food Service Supervisor is to oversee the food service operation in a Correctional Facility . Ensure all meals are prepared in compliance with nutritional standards, safety regulations, and facility policies. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work within a structured environment. Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities Must Be able to Work Weekends, and Some Holidays. Supervise and train kitchen staff and inmate workers, ensuring adherence to proper food handling and sanitation protocols. Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menu and recipes. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations and correctional guidelines. Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including meal counts, supply usage, and compliance reports. Manage food inventory, procurement of goods weekly. Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates. This role includes physical demands such as lifting 50 lbs., bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. Perform other related duties as assigned. Ability to work in a highly regulated and structured environment, and adhere to correctional facility security protocols.
Required:
Shifts rotate weekly: Shifts 3am to 10am and 7am to 2pm Ability to pass a background check and drug test. High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Minimum of 1-2 years of food service management experience. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServSafe certification. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Basic computer skills.
