Job Description
Kitchen Coordinator Position Overview The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily food-service operations at My Place and ensuring children receive safe, nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with CACFP meal patterns, approved menus, food-safety standards, allergy requirements, and New York State childcare regulations. This is a year-round, non-exempt position that reports to program leadership. The Kitchen Coordinator prepares and serves meals, maintains accurate food-production records, manages food and kitchen-supply inventory, completes purchasing and ordering, and ensures the kitchen and equipment remain clean, sanitary, organized, and inspection-ready. The position also updates weekly menus in Procare, communicates menu information to families, provides input on seasonal menu planning, and supports occasional staff celebrations and program events. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced childcare environment. Candidates should have relevant cooking or food-service experience, knowledge of food safety and CACFP requirements, basic computer skills, and the ability to work professionally with children, families, staff, and community members. Required training, background-clearance requirements, and ongoing professional development must be maintained throughout employment.
