Join our established team for opportunities for growth, success, and a rewarding career. This position is on the first shift, from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The compensation range for this role is $21.00 to $21.52 per hour. Please note that weekend work may be required based on operational needs. This is a full-time position. Job Summary The Prep Lead is responsible for overseeing the Prep department's efficient and precise processing of ingredients during their assigned shift. The role may involve hands-on preparation or other duties assigned by leadership. In case of absence, the position will be covered by trained personnel. Duties and Responsibilities Lead, train, and guide team members to ensure accurate and efficient processing of ingredients. Ensure processing is performed with minimal waste and delays. Maintain accurate inventory within the assigned department. Support the continuous and effective operation of departmental processing equipment. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and Allergen protocols, safeguarding ingredient integrity and preventing foreign material contamination. Perform additional related duties as assigned, aligned with skill level and work conditions. Operating Equipment Safely operated manual and/or electric pallet jacks (plant certification required). Safely operate all equipment within the department. Leadership Responsibilities Lead and develop team members. Conduct training and performance coaching. Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, recognition, and support. Communicate with leadership regarding employee concerns and zone efficiency. Take accountability for departmental KPIs and performance metrics. Food Safety Responsibilities Accurately and honestly complete all required documentation. Adhere to corporate GMPs, SOPs, and food safety policies. Follow allergen control procedures diligently. Report suspicious packages, activities, or individuals as necessary. If monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs), ensure HACCP training compliance and adherence to approved plans. Physical Requirements The role requires meeting physical demands essential for the job, including standing for extended periods, frequent use of hands, reaching, walking, climbing, balancing, and sensory activities such as tasting and smelling. Employees must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision capabilities include close vision. Work Environment Production areas are typically maintained at temperatures above 60°F, while refrigerated zones are below 38°F. The environment may occasionally involve exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, chemicals, and extreme cold. The noise level is generally moderate, and hearing protection may be necessary.
