Position Summary As a Shift Leader, you'll be responsible for leading restaurant operations during your shift, ensuring exceptional food quality, fast service, and a clean, safe environment. You'll support the General Manager by coaching team members, solving problems, and helping the restaurant achieve its sales, labor, and guest service goals. This is more than just running a shift—it's your opportunity to build leadership skills and grow into higher management positions. What You'll Do Lead and motivate team members throughout each shift Deliver outstanding guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally Coach and develop employees through positive feedback and accountability Assign duties and ensure efficient operations during busy periods Maintain SONIC's standards for food quality, speed of service, and cleanliness Monitor food safety and sanitation procedures Assist with opening and closing procedures Count drawers, handle cash accurately, and complete shift paperwork Help manage labor and food costs Ensure inventory is stocked and the restaurant is ready for business Create a positive, high-energy work environment where team members can succeed Step into any position when needed to support the team What We're Looking For Natural leadership skills and a positive attitude Ability to stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions Strong communication and problem-solving skills Dependable, punctual, and accountable Passion for coaching and developing others Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Basic computer and cash-handling skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred Preferred Experience Restaurant, retail, or hospitality leadership experience preferred Previous supervisory or shift management experience is a plus Food service experience preferred, but leadership potential matters most Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Lift up to 50 pounds Bend, stoop, reach, and move quickly throughout the shift Work in both indoor and outdoor environments Ability to work around hot equipment and kitchen machinery Schedule Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Closing Shifts Weekends and Holidays as Needed Flexible Scheduling Available Why Join SONIC?
