2-3 regularly scheduled tour days per week Midnight Sky Adventures is seeking an experienced tour guide to lead our premium, small-group Arctic Circle and Northern Lights tours along the Dalton Highway. This is a seasonal position running from September through the end of March, with 2-3 regularly scheduled tour days per week. Required Experience Previous Dalton Highway experience is mandatory . Candidates without direct experience traveling or guiding this route will not be considered.
Qualified candidates must have:
Professional tourism or guiding experience Direct knowledge and experience of the Dalton Highway and Arctic Circle route Strong knowledge of Alaska and Interior Alaska history, geography, and culture Highly competent customer service and communication skills Basic aurora forecasting and Northern Lights hunting skills Significant winter-driving experience The judgment and confidence required to operate safely in remote and changing conditions A clean driving record and the ability to meet commercial insurance requirements The ability to remain attentive, engaging, and professional throughout long tour days Responsibilities Lead small-group Arctic Circle and Northern Lights tours along the Dalton Highway Safely operate an AWD passenger van in winter and remote-road conditions Provide accurate, engaging, and historically grounded tour commentary Share information about Alaska and Interior Alaska history, geography, culture, and the Dalton Highway Create a welcoming and memorable experience for guests from around the world Monitor aurora forecasts and identify suitable Northern Lights viewing opportunities Manage tour stops, guest needs, timing, and changing weather or road conditions Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks Maintain a clean, organized, smoke-free, and professional guest environment Represent Midnight Sky Adventures consistently and professionally Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the guest experience Tour Format and Preparation Our premium tours are limited to six guests, creating a more comfortable and engaging experience than larger-group tours. Tours are adult-oriented -- our minimum guest age is 15. Although previous Dalton Highway experience is required, the selected guide will receive company-specific preparation before leading tours independently and will have an opportunity to shadow on the first tour. Dalton Highway experience is non-negotiable. Only experienced candidates will be considered.
