GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This job requires our Servers to interact with, entertain, and build a rapport with our guests. The essence of the role is based on above and beyond service. It is required that our teammates sell food, beverage, and merchandise to our guests. Our image is wholesome and friendly. You must provide attentive service to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Each team member's primary objective is to show our guests a great time, so they will return again and again.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES KNOW OUR CAUSE BY HEART.
Report to work when scheduled, on time, and in uniform. Complete all opening duties, during-shift duties, and closing duties. Greet guests sincerely and warmly, and tell them your name. Welcome and seat diners comfortably in the dining section when needed. Take guests' food and drink orders accurately and efficiently. Know and understand the Tacos and Avocados concept and menu. Memorize the menu and recommend appetizers, entrees, and drinks from our beverage and wine list. Follow and execute the 8 Steps of Service on every table, every shift, without exception, to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with our 12 Steps of Responsible Service. Always get a manager involved when in question on guest service. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders. Run food for your tables and for your fellow teammates. Be a team player! Deliver a memorable dining experience by resolving guest issues promptly and involving a manager when needed. Keep your section clean and free of trash and debris. Assist with tidying tables, clearing leftovers, and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant. Set tables and rearrange the dining area to accommodate larger groups and to prepare the restaurant for special events. Sweep, mop, and scrub floors as needed. Help maintain, clean dishes, and keep up the dish area when no dish person is on the clock. Ensure the dining area, service stations, and kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations. Have high energy and be a self-motivated team member. Leave your personal problems at the door.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
No education is needed to start as an entry level Server, and much of what you will learn will be through Tacos and Avocados training. You may have to be 18 or older to serve alcohol, depending on the state.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language. Must be able to read and understand the menu, write and ring in tickets, and utilize a computerized register system. Must be able to suggestively sell menu items. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Ability to mathematically compute proper change and accurately settle checks.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must attend orientation and agree to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Tacos and Avocados training book. Must attend and successfully complete the Tacos and Avocados training program prior to working a shift without supervision. Must successfully attend and complete any and all other required training in compliance with local and state regulations, such as food and/or alcohol service certifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As a Server with Tacos and Avocados, you will be walking or standing throughout your shift. You may also be required to carry, pull, and push up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this role, the Team Member is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles from the kitchen. The Team Member is also occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, such as in the dish area or walk-in cooler, and sometimes uses toxic or caustic chemicals when cleaning. Because of our patio and outdoor space, Team Members may also work in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level at Tacos and Avocados is usually loud.
