Job Description

Division Human Resources Location WVSOM Main Campus, Lewisburg, WV Job Description Summary The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently looking for part-time, temporary servers to assist in the WVSOM Student Center and O'Cafe for small to large events as needed. This position is a temporary position with a pay of $25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested; no benefits. Review of applications will begin immediately upon receipt. Candidates are subject to employment and credential verification, reference and background checks. Duties and Responsibilities Position would deliver, set up, serve, and cleanup catered events. Maintain "on time" delivery schedule for catered events. Prepare and mix ingredients as requested. Maintain food service area and assist the Director and Assistant Director as needed. Ensure proper storage of leftover food items. Maintain a clean sanitary workplace in accordance with county, state, and federal regulations. Performs related duties as assigned or as directed. Percentage 100 Minimum Education High School or GED Required Licenses/Certification This position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of recent and related experience, though a combination of education and experience may be considered. Position also requires the obtainment of a WV food handler's permit. Skills Required Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of individuals; Ability to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment; Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad and diverse group of individuals; Ability to learn and/or operate a cash register; Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgment; Ability to work evenings and weekends. Job duties are performed in a standard work environment and require bending, stooping, standing, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
