Job Description

Job Summary:
Assist with general workshop activities while completing on the job and classroom based training. We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician - TAP to join our Distribution business in (Omaha, NE). Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources. Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level. Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts. Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software TAP Training This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. A current valid license is required for this role Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of work shop experience required or basic level knowledge of engine products Basic mechanical knowledge Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
