Benefits Analyst Position Summary:

The Benefits Analyst supports agency growth, client retention, and service excellence by completing benefit service work for assigned accounts in partnership with the Account Manager, Producer, and vendor partners. This role is responsible for analyzing client needs, supporting renewals and new business, maintaining accurate records, preparing client-facing materials, and ensuring service requests are handled promptly, professionally, and in accordance with agency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Support agency growth and retention efforts by completing service work for assigned accounts in conjunction with the Account Manager and in accordance with agency service standards. Support the agency sales philosophy by identifying coverage gaps and opportunities for account rounding, cross-selling, and upselling. Analyze client needs, coverage forms, policies, proposals, plan designs, and related materials to identify potential loss exposure and recommend appropriate coverage solutions. Prepare proofs, summaries, schedules, censuses, proposals, benefit guides, federal notices, Section 125 plans, invoices, and other client or internal documents as needed. Process incoming mail, emails, faxes, phone calls, and service requests promptly and professionally, including timely client updates when an immediate answer is not available. Maintain client files in the Agency Management System by processing policies, changes, invoices, proofs of insurance, attachments, activities, and other service documentation per agency standards and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in insurance, carrier, or HR account management roles Current Life & Health Insurance license within the state(s) of business, or the ability to obtain the license within 90 days of hire Understanding of employee benefits, benefit administration platforms, renewal workflows, carrier processes, and agency service standards Ability to review and interpret plan designs, census data, proposals, invoices, enrollment forms, and related benefit documentation High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Agency Management System (Applied Epic), benefit administration platforms (Employee Navigator), and carrier proprietary systems Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-focused approach Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and documentation habits Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple requests, and provide timely updates to clients and internal team members Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law
