Job Description

Schedule:
Every Monday, 7 am to 5 pm with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts As a member of the inpatient care team, you will provide administrative and clerical support that helps ensure efficient unit operations and exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of nursing leadership, you will serve as a communication hub, coordinate information flow, and support patients, families, and team members throughout their care experience. In this role, you will: Accurately transcribe, process, and communicate patient care information to appropriate departments and team members in a timely manner. Maintain and update patient information within the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Provide professional telephone support, including answering calls, taking messages, routing communications, and relaying information to appropriate staff. Adapt to changing patient volumes, staffing needs, and departmental priorities while supporting other areas as requested. Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and team members through professional communication and service excellence practices. Complete required education, training, and competency requirements to maintain and expand job knowledge and skills. Support the onboarding and development of new staff and students by providing guidance, encouragement, and a positive learning environment. Foster a collaborative team culture through respectful communication, professionalism, and constructive problem-solving. Document patient care activities and communications accurately and timely within the EHR. Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to prepare professional documents, reports, and communications. Handle concerns, complaints, and difficult situations with professionalism and discretion, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution. Coordinate daily tasks and projects to maximize efficiency, productivity, and workflow. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information. Perform all other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional service while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
