ST. CLAIR COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER
WELDING
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN
POSITION SUMMARY The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. They provide support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience in welding technology. American Welding Society (AWS) certification preferred. Related Associate's degree preferred. ACT/WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate-Gold Level preferred. Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks of a welder, including being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor. Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans. Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching and reinforcing technical and academic content. Assist students in the development of personal management skills. Assist students in the transition from school-to-work. Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior, and special needs.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent. Assist with recruiting and promotional activities. Assist with student management activities. Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities. Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students. Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, and Board of Education Policy Manual.
