Job Description
Job Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, and compliance. This role serves as a point of contact for employees and applicants while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all HR functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files. Process new hire, termination, and employment status paperwork. Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying employee information. Support benefits enrollment and answer employee questions regarding benefits. Maintain HR databases and ensure employee records are current and accurate. Assist with performance evaluation processes and employee recognition programs. Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records. Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager or Director. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Experience One to three years of administrative or human resources experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Attention to detail and accuracy. Customer service-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of employment laws and HR best practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk throughout the facility as needed. Work Environment Office environment with regular interaction with employees, applicants, and management.
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
