ABOUT THE ROLE

Howmz builds homes differently

• factory-built structural systems, assembled fast in the field. We're growing our factory and field teams, and we need someone to run the day-to-day people work that comes with it. We already have the systems
• HR software, hiring process, onboarding steps, policies.

What we don't have is someone whose job it is to run them. Today that work is split across managers and production leads, and things slip. This is a hands-on execution role, not a build-it-from-scratch role. Our people are split across the office, the factory floor, and active job sites, and you'll go where they are.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Recruiting:

  post open roles, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and keep candidates moving through our process.

• Onboarding:

  run an onboarding checklist for every new hire so nothing is missed before day one.

• Follow-ups:

  keep managers on schedule for check-ins and reviews, and check in with new hires through their first 90 days.
• Employee support: be the first stop for questions on pay, time off, benefits, and policy.

• Offboarding:

  handle exit paperwork and logistics, and sit in on termination conversations as the HR presence.
• HR administration: keep our HR system and employee records accurate and current.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 2-4 years of HR experience
• recruiting coordination, HR administration, onboarding, or a generalist role.
• Comfort using an HRIS/payroll platform day to day (Gusto, Rippling, ADP, Paylocity, or similar).
• Excellent follow-through.
• Discretion and good judgment
• you'll know things about people that go nowhere else.
• Willingness to work across the office, factory floor, and active job sites, including required PPE.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice to have:

• Experience hiring or onboarding hourly and skilled-trades workers.
• Manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or field-service background.
• Familiarity with I-9/E-Verify and Utah employment basics.

SUCCESS IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS

• You've met every employee and know our process, our HR system, and our managers.
• Open roles are moving and candidates aren't going cold.
• Every new hire since your start has gone through full onboarding with nothing missed.
• Employee records are accurate and current.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

Roughly 20-25 hours per week across 3-4 days, on-site between our Heber City office, our factory, and nearby job sites. Schedule is flexible week to week.
