Job Description

Work in Wellness at the New Yora Nordic Spa Something New Is Taking Shape Opening in November 2026, Yora Nordic Spa is a place to pause, reconnect and experience wellbeing through nature, hydrotherapy and authentic human connection. We are now beginning to build our founding team - the people who will bring Yora Nordic Spa to life and shape our culture from the very beginning. The Opportunity The People & Culture Coordinator will be one of the first members of our on-site team. This role will help recruit, welcome, onboard and support the founding team members who will open Yora Nordic Spa to our community in November 2026. The People & Culture Coordinator supports the day-to-day people practices that shape the employee journey from recruitment and onboarding through learning, engagement, recognition and retention. This role is anticipated to start on or around September 28, 2026. What You Will Do Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, offers and pre-employment requirements. Help create a thoughtful and organized candidate experience that reflects Yora's brand and values. Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities so new employees feel welcomed, prepared and connected from the beginning. Support the recruitment and onboarding of Yora's founding team in preparation for the November 2026 opening. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, People & Culture systems, reports and required documentation. Support timecard reviews and biweekly payroll processing and uploads, working with leaders to resolve discrepancies. Coordinate benefits administration and respond to routine employee questions about programs, policies and people processes. Partner with Yora leaders, Corporate People & Culture and our Professional Employer Organization's People & Culture advisor to support employee relations, policy interpretation and workplace matters. Support learning, development, recognition, engagement and employee communication initiatives. Help leaders navigate performance feedback, employee development and other People & Culture processes. Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders and connect them with the appropriate information, resources and support. Track and report on recruitment, staffing, retention, learning and other relevant people metrics. Help ensure employment practices and records comply with applicable federal, Connecticut and local requirements. Identify opportunities to simplify and improve People & Culture systems, processes and the overall employee experience. Model Yora's values and contribute to a workplace that is simple, inclusive, natural and social. What You Bring Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Previous experience in People & Culture, human resources, people operations, hospitality or employee services. Strong relationship-building and written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization, follow-through and attention to detail. The ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing, pre-opening and operational environment. Sound judgment and the ability to handle personal and confidential information with care and discretion. Experience using employee information systems, payroll or timekeeping platforms and Microsoft Office applications. An approachable and service-oriented working style. A genuine interest in employee experience, workplace culture, wellness and helping people succeed. Schedule This is a full-time, on-site position. The regular schedule is expected to be primarily during weekday business hours. Flexibility will be required at times to support recruitment, onboarding, employee orientation, training, workplace events and operational needs. Occasional early-morning, evening, weekend or holiday work may be required, particularly during the pre-opening and opening periods. Physical and Work Environment Requirements This position works primarily indoors and combines office-based work with regular movement throughout the spa and occasional work in outdoor areas. The role involves periods of sitting and computer use, standing and walking, bending and reaching, and carrying routine office, recruitment or onboarding materials. While moving through operational areas, employees may encounter changing temperatures, humidity, steam, moisture, outdoor weather conditions and wet or slippery surfaces. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
