About the Job As HR Director, you will serve as the senior HR leader for Calibrated Power Solutions and Wehrli Custom Fabrication. You will support more than 100 employees across Woodstock and DeKalb, building practical HR systems while remaining visible, approachable, and trusted throughout both organizations. This is a hands-on role. You will manage employee relations, recruiting, compliance, manager coaching, and HR infrastructure while advising leadership on workforce needs, organizational risk, and long-term people strategy. Regular onsite presence at both locations is required. Key Responsibilities Lead employee-relations including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective-action processes across both locations. Own full-cycle recruiting and structured onboarding for manufacturing, operational, and skilled-trades positions. Coach managers through performance concerns, employee issues, difficult conversations, and leadership challenges. Maintain a visible, credible HR presence with employees and leaders at both the Woodstock and DeKalb locations. Required Experience Experience leading HR for a workforce of 100 or more employees, ideally across multiple locations. Strong employee-relations, workplace-investigation, conflict-resolution, and manager-coaching experience. Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, benefits administration, and recordkeeping in Illinois and Wisconsin. Experience managing recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, and corrective-action processes. Preferred Experience Manufacturing, skilled-trades, fabrication, or similar operational HR experience. Multi-location HR leadership experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or a similar HR certification. Approximately 10 or more years of progressive HR experience. Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, exempt position with compensation of $85,000 to $100,000+, commensurate with experience. Benefits include PTO, health insurance, and a 401(k); additional benefit details will be confirmed during the hiring process.
