Role Summary Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director - Global Human Resources is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for developing and executing the organization's global human capital strategy. Leading a geographically dispersed team of HR professionals, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across all areas of human resources, ensuring that people practices, policies, and programs support the company's business objectives, culture, values, and legal obligations. The Senior Director - Global Human serves as the organization's senior HR leader and advisor to the President/CEO and executive team, providing guidance on talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement, and change management. This position is responsible for strengthening and evolving the company's strong culture while fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven work environment. As a strategic business partner, the Senior Director - Global Human coaches and mentors senior leaders on all aspects of people leadership and organizational effectiveness. The role also plays a critical part in enhancing collaboration, alignment, and effectiveness across the executive leadership team, which includes both long-tenured company leaders and newer executives, ensuring the organization is well-positioned to achieve its long-term strategic objectives. Essential Job Functions The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of and appreciation for the technical and functional components of Human Resources, including:
Serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, developing and executing human capital strategies that support the organization's vision, goals, and long-term growth while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead all talent acquisition initiatives, ensuring the organization attracts, hires, and retains high-caliber talent to meet current and future business needs.
Direct talent management programs, including performance management, employee engagement, and retention strategies, to build a high-performing workforce.
Oversee organizational design and development efforts to optimize structure, capabilities, and operational effectiveness across the enterprise.
Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity and a strong pipeline of future leaders.
Champion leadership development initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and prepare leaders to successfully navigate change and growth.
Provide executive oversight of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market competitiveness, and employee value propositions.
Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and corporate policies while proactively managing organizational risk.
Lead human resources due diligence, workforce planning, and integration activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
Develop and execute enterprise-wide employee communication strategies that foster engagement, transparency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
Establish learning and development strategies that support workforce capability, leadership effectiveness, and organizational growth.
Provide executive leadership on complex employee relations matters, promoting a positive workplace culture while ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
Lead, develop, and mentor the Human Resources team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Advise senior leadership and the Board of Directors, as appropriate, on human capital trends, workforce risks, and strategic people initiatives.
Up to 35% travel is required, including domestic and international travel, to support business operations, leadership meetings, employee engagement initiatives, and strategic projects. Qualifications
15 years demonstrated experience in a global human resources management role, preferably as a Senior Manager or Director.
Exceptional executive-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage, influence, and build relationships across diverse functional areas, organizational levels, personalities, and cultures. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and foster alignment in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated experience in executive assessment, coaching, and performance improvement, with a proven track record of leading organizational change and driving business transformation. Strong organizational development (OD) expertise and change management acumen, with the ability to align people strategies with evolving business needs.
Strong organizational, analytical and management skills
Continuous improvement and process oriented
Manufacturing industry insight and proven track record
Multi-site plant manufacturing and international experience
Experience with a non-union workforce preferred
Lean methodology and HR best practices thought leader moving organizations forward
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; Masters Human Resources degree preferred
SPHR/GPHR
Certification preferred
