Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources to develop all functions of human resources and advise department managers and senior staff of laws, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local human resources legislation, such as ADA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc These functions include employment recruiting, job evaluation/classification, employee relations, compensation, and benefits (i.e, medical plans, disability, workers' compensation, retirement savings plans, etc.) Responsibilities Demonstrates and understands the importance of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each patient in all interactions. Organizes and coordinates all Department functions to provide for a smooth, cost-effective operation. Serves as a role model in all aspects of job performance. Demonstrates competence in the application of principles of management. Assumes responsibility in the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel. Responsible for interview, selection, and supervision of the department. Responsible for conducting annual evaluations of the staff. Responsible for insuring that staff performance issues are addressed. Allocates resources to meet Department needs. Conducts staff meetings at regular intervals to exchange information and promote dialogue. Promotes staff development through education, performance evaluation, and identification of mutual goals that enhance continued professional growth Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all hospital personnel. Provide overall direction and guidance with the Hospital Administrator and Department Managers as necessary to ensure that human resource functions are provided and interpreted in compliance with legislative standards. Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Provide employee relations support to employees/managers on an as needed basis with regard to issues of legal compliance (i.e., hiring, terminations, discipline, etc.). Communicate with employees regarding addition or modification of policies, procedures, benefits, etc. Implements and annually updates compensation programs, collaborates on revisions of job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation to ensure internal equity, manages performance evaluation and merit process. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; implements approved policies and procedures and monitors compliance with the same, performs benefits administration to include managing enrollment process for new hires and open enrollment. Manages on-site wellness program. Ensure compliance with Federal and state laws pertaining to human resource issues including File all required legal documentation (i.e., 5500's, EEO-1, etc.) Ensure compliance with contracts and service agreements related to Human Resources. Oversee the maintenance of confidential personnel files. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientation, monitors career pathing program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing; writes and places advertisements. Provide guidance to departments in choosing suitable candidates for specific positions. Provide training and development to enhance employee skills and knowledge, which includes delivering in-house training sessions on pertinent topics. Recommend/evaluate outside training resources. Perform and/or coordinate employee orientation for new employees. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains hospital organizational charts and employee directory. Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed. Coordinate administration of all employee benefits plans including health and welfare plans, and 401(k) plans. Manage all third-party benefit vendors. Purchase/negotiate all third-party benefit vendor contracts. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned. Draft and prepare special reports/analyses for review. Adheres to all components of the Hospital Compliance Plan, including but not limited to Joint Commission, in performing job duties and reports any violations or suspected violations of the Plan to the Compliance Officer. Demonstrates professional conduct and complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Adheres to hospital attendance policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Complies with measures for preventing exposure to blood borne pathogens. Participates in the Hazardous Material Program; hazards include exposure to blood and body fluids, possible communicable diseases, sharp objects and instruments, assorted chemicals and gasses as listed in the Hazardous Materials Program Manual. Complies with established Safety and Patient Safety Program practices. Performs other incidental and related duties, as required and/or assigned. Develops an understanding of responsibilities for recognizing patient abuse and follows policy for making appropriate referrals/interventions. Develops an understanding of responsibilities for participation in Performance Improvement activities and participates in such activities. Limits access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job, and shares such information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree . Preferred in business or healthcare related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum five (5) years previous experience in Human Resource management role required, including experience in and knowledge of HR administration in a medical hospital or healthcare organization, employing a minimum of 100 employees.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Math Ability:
Ability to perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of basic computer skills and word processing.

Pay:
$60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
