Position Summary The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources operations, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits administration, payroll coordination, compliance, workplace safety reporting, workers' compensation administration, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a trusted resource for management and employees, ensuring the company maintains a productive, compliant, and positive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with recruiting, screening, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Prepare and process new hire paperwork, employee files, eligibility documents, and onboarding materials. Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, HR forms, and confidential information. Support employee onboarding, orientation, badge or system setup, and first-day coordination. Track and follow up on required licenses, certifications, training, and compliance items Assist with employee communication, notices, reminders, and HR updates. Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR procedures, onboarding status, paperwork, and general employment information. Coordinate with payroll, accounting, operations, and management to ensure employee information is complete and accurate. Help maintain compliance with company policies, employment regulations, safety requirements, and recordkeeping standards. Prepare HR reports, rosters, tracking sheets, and follow-up lists as needed. Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, data entry, phone calls, email follow-up, and office support. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and supplemental benefits. Coordinate annual insurance renewals and open enrollment activities. Assist supervisors and managers in conducting employee evaluations. Maintain OSHA logs and required workplace safety documentation. Coordinate OSHA reporting and compliance activities. Manage workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution.
Qualifications and Skills:
5 + years Previous human resources, recruiting, administrative, or office support experience preferred. Bilingual English Spanish preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Good verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable using email, phone, spreadsheets, HR systems, databases, and basic office software. Ability to prioritize tasks, follow up consistently, and manage multiple deadlines Professional, organized, dependable, and able to work well with employees, managers, and ap0plicants. Working Conditions Primarily office-based environment with occasional visits to operational work areas. May require attendance at safety meetings, employee events, and training sessions. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
