Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven HR Generalist responsible for supporting the day-to-day human resources needs of the company and its employees. This position works across the organization to support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, personnel records, policy compliance, and other HR functions. The HR Generalist also serves as the coordinator for the company's H-2A program and serves as the primary HR liaison with the company's safety contractor. This position coordinates employee training, maintains required records, and helps ensure HR and safety processes are consistently followed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agricultural and seasonal workforce environment. Key Responsibilities Human Resources Support day-to-day HR operations and provide timely assistance to employees and supervisors. Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including required paperwork, orientation, and system updates. Assist with recruiting, job postings, applicant screening, interviews, hiring, and new-hire paperwork. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records. Administer employee benefits and assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment processes. Support payroll processes by maintaining accurate employee information, timekeeping records, and other required documentation. Assist with employee relations matters, including documentation, communication, and follow-up with employees and supervisors. Help ensure company policies and procedures are consistently communicated and followed. Assist with development, updating, and distribution of employee policies, forms, and HR communications. Maintain required employment records and ensure documentation is complete and current. Assist with performance management processes, employee documentation, and disciplinary actions. Support employee communication and help address routine workplace questions and concerns. Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, and company information. Provide HR support to managers and supervisors across farming, packing, and administrative operations. Perform other HR duties and projects as assigned. H-2A Program Administration Coordinate and maintain the administrative requirements of the company's H-2A program. Assist with preparation and submission of H-2A documentation, applications, recruitment records, and required filings. Coordinate with external immigration, legal, government, and recruiting resources as needed. Maintain accurate H-2A employee records and required documentation throughout the employment period. Coordinate arrival, onboarding, housing, transportation, and other administrative needs associated with H-2A employees. Track required deadlines, notices, certifications, and other H-2A program requirements. Assist with communication between H-2A employees, supervisors, management, and outside service providers. Help ensure the company follows applicable H-2A requirements and internal procedures. Maintain organized records for audits, inspections, and other compliance needs. Support the annual H-2A process and make recommendations for improving administration and efficiency. Safety Coordination & Training Serve as the primary HR liaison with the company's safety contractor. Coordinate required safety training for new hires, seasonal employees, and existing employees. Schedule and communicate required safety training and recurring training requirements. Maintain accurate records of employee training, certifications, and completion dates. Monitor training requirements and follow up to ensure required training is completed on time. Coordinate training materials, attendance records, and documentation. Communicate company safety policies and training requirements to employees and supervisors. Assist with employee safety orientation and onboarding. Support documentation and coordination related to workplace incidents and injuries. Assist with workers' compensation documentation and communication as needed. Work with supervisors and the safety contractor to identify training needs and areas requiring additional attention. Support implementation and consistent communication of the company's safety program. Compliance & Administration Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements. Assist with required employment postings, notices, records, and documentation. Monitor HR-related deadlines and required renewals. Assist with internal and external audits involving employee records, employment practices, and compliance documentation. Maintain organized electronic and paper HR records. Assist with preparation of HR reports and workforce information as requested. Stay informed on changes to employment regulations and communicate relevant changes to management. Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment when handling sensitive employee information. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR 5+ years of relevant HR experience. Previous experience with HRIS, HRMS and/or HCM systems. Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and employee relations. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Ability to work independently while also working effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Preferred Previous HR experience in an agricultural, manufacturing, production, or similar work environment. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. H-2A experience strongly preferred. Experience with People System of Record Experience with seasonal and/or agricultural workforces.
