Position Summary:
The Human Resources Intern will assist the HR department and employee owners with administrative and HR-related tasks. Tasks may include updating employee records, HRIS database, or researching and carrying out assigned projects.
Human Resources Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
Work across departments with Managers and Supervisors in various roles. Assist with personnel administration, employee information, and employment applications.

Updating company databases by inputting new employee contact information and employment details.

Understanding of and ability to process payroll data. Provide clerical support to the Human Resources department; compose and type letters and other documents related to HR activities. Screening potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.

Organizing interviews with shortlisted candidates.

Assisting in the planning of company events and increase employee morale.

Coordinating new hire orientations.

Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.

Creation of new employee files and filing of documents into employee files.

Scanning of HR related documents into HRIS system. Other projects and duties as assigned.
Human Resources Intern Skills and Specifications:
Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is advantageous.

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office and G Suite applications.

The ability to work as part of a team.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills.

Detail-oriented.

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and understand company policies.
Human Resources Intern Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
Human Resources Intern Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Human Resources Intern, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Human Resources Intern Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Human Resources Intern, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
