As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for an organized, people-focused Human Resources Generalist who enjoys helping others, improving processes, and contributing to a positive employee experience. About the Role The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager to support the day-to-day HR and administrative needs of the firm. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being involved throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee records, training, performance management support, employee engagement, and general HR administration. The HR Generalist will serve as a resource for employees while partnering closely with the HR Manager to ensure HR processes are organized, responsive, compliant, and consistent with Buckfire Law's culture and Core Values. This position is ideal for someone who wants to continue developing their HR career while gaining exposure to multiple areas of human resources within a growing law firm. What You'll Do Recruiting & Onboarding Assist with job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and recruitment coordination. Help create a positive and professional candidate experience from initial contact through the hiring process. Coordinate new hire onboarding, including paperwork, system setup, orientation materials, training schedules, and first-day preparation. Maintain onboarding checklists and follow up on outstanding items. Support 60-day employee check-ins and new hire feedback processes. Employee Support & HR Administration Serve as a friendly and professional first point of contact for routine employee HR questions. Support the HR Manager with employee relations matters, documentation, and follow-up. Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records. Prepare HR documents, employee communications, forms, and reports. Assist with policy administration and ensure employees understand HR procedures and expectations. Help maintain employee information within the HRIS and other HR systems. Benefits & Leave Administration Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and general benefit questions. Support annual open enrollment and benefit communications. Maintain benefit records and coordinate information with benefit providers as needed. Assist with PTO, leave, and other employee benefit administration. Help ensure benefit and leave documentation is accurate and completed timely. Performance & Employee Development Assist with performance review scheduling, documentation, and tracking. Support the HR Manager with employee coaching, performance improvement documentation, and corrective action processes. Coordinate employee training and professional development activities. Help track required training and follow up with employees and managers regarding completion. Employee Experience & Culture Support employee engagement initiatives, firm events, recognition programs, and culture activities. Help ensure employees feel informed, welcomed, and connected throughout their employment. Assist with internal communications and employee announcements. Look for opportunities to improve the employee experience and make HR processes easier and more efficient. Help bring Buckfire Law's Core Values into the employee experience, recruiting process, and day-to-day workplace. HR Operations & Compliance Assist with maintaining HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, and standard operating procedures. Help ensure personnel records and HR processes remain compliant with applicable employment requirements. Support audits, reporting, and HR data tracking. Assist with payroll and timekeeping administration as needed. Help identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through technology and automation. Office & Administrative Support Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and assist with general office operations as needed. Help coordinate employee events, meetings, trainings, and office initiatives. Work collaboratively with leadership, managers, and employees across the firm. Assist with special HR and office projects as the firm continues to grow. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Approximately 2-4 years of human resources, recruiting, employee support, or related experience. Working knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations. Experience with HRIS, payroll, recruiting, or benefits systems preferred. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Comfortable working directly with employees and managers at all levels. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Interest in using technology and automation to improve efficiency is a plus. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus but not required.
